Hypnotherapy for Behavioural Change
(Six One-Hour Sessions)
Dr. Likey is a certified clinical hynotherapist with over 10 years experience making lasting positive changes in the lifestyles of his clients. Hypnotherapy is prescribed when the client needs to alter behavior that is deeply seated in the subconcious mind and nervous system. Typically issues related to addiction to nicotine, food, sex, emotional control, phobias and obsessive compulsive behavior are best approached with hypnotherapy.
A discussion of the issue being addressed allows Dr. Likey to understand the triggers and mechanisms that embed and surround the undesired behavior. The client is seated or reclining while a state of hypnosis is achieved. Dr. Likey surfaces the deeply seated emotions surrounding the behavior and eliminates them through imagery and suggestion. In some cases the undesired behavior is replaced with a benign or positive image or behavior that counteracts impulses. The client surfaces from the altered mental state refreshed and rested.

ALPHA-QUANTUM THERAPY(c)/SPIRITUAL MEDITATIVE MIND-TREATMENTS

Dr. Likey has been employing these breakthrough techniques pioneered by Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, to assist clients in working through traumas. Dr. Likey also refers to these "Meditative Mind Treatments" as ALPHA-QUANTUM THERAPY(c), since the technique employs the meditative/hypnotic brainwave-state known as "Alpha". The client/patient is able to "move past" any debilitating beliefs which previously had hindered the quality of his/her life.The client/patient does not undergo any physical or emotional stress during the process, which takes about an hour. Both Dr. Likey and the patient sit face-to-face, as Dr. Likey verbally guides the patient who is in a light meditative/hypnotic state, and then helps them to shift their attitude/perspective/perception of the original trauma to wellness.

Fear Elimination Therapy (F.E.T.)
This is the creation of Robert Shields, Principal of the Robert Shields College of Hypnotherapy, (England) where Dr. Likey earned his Clinical Hypnotherapy diploma. Effective in eliminating fears and phobias, the client must be able to recall the specific incident which caused the fear/phobia, otherwise ongoing hypnotherapy sessions are required to uncover the specific incident. Assuming the patient remembers the incident, he/she then sits face-to-face with Dr. Likey, retelling the event in detail to him. Dr. Likey then retrains and shifts in minutes how the patient is recalling the memory, for example, shifting it from an emotional situation to purely logical/intellectual/matter-of-fact, and non-emotional! This is accomplished by using Robert Shields' simple, effective, and original method known as F.E.T., or Fear Elimination Therapy.
Often times the patient is so relieved at seeing and experiencing the trauma in a completely different way, that they can once again laugh and smile.
Dr. Likey is the only one in B.C., Canada, qualified and certified through the Robert Shields College in England (May 2004) to do this therapy.
